Government Contract Compliance:
Situation: Due to several reorganizations, changes in the
business environments and a transition from government contracting
to commercial business this company had fallen drastically behind
in it's required actual cost submissions to the government's Defense
Contracting Audit Agency (DCAA), audits were four years in arrears
and contract close outs were even further behind.
IntegraGroup's Role: Engaged to direct and support the
company's accounting department, IntegraGroup managed the DCAA audit
of all prior periods. We redesigned the accounting system and established
a cost pool and allocation base structure, which allowed the company
to function in both a commercial, and government business environment.
Cost plus, time and material and fixed price contracts were all
managed within a single system. We also supported the close out
process of nearly 50 different contracts spanning a twelve-year
period.
Conclusion: The company was able to return to full compliance
in its government contract accounting. We were able to bill prior
period costs incurred on certain contracts where funding was still
available and the company collected cash on old contracts.
